Cocoon
Hey, come on in.
I’m Ellie, a registered counsellor & psychotherapist (or clinical counsellor if you’re from Canada!) and the founder of Cocoon Mental Health.
I’m a restless Australian living on the West Coast of Canada and I love shaking up mental health and wellness to find what is actually helpful for us.
To put it simply.. I got sick of what was out there for mental health support and therapy.
It didn’t excite me, it felt too preachy and unauthentic
OR way too clinical like we all need to do what a textbook tells us to be happy and then feel like there’s something wrong with us when it doesn’t give us the results it promised.
That’s why Cocoon was born - to bring a
down to earth, creative approach different from traditional, one-size-fits-all models of Psychology and Therapy.
So.. here’s what we do!
1-1 therapy sessions
I have focussed my studies and experience on children, adolescents, young adults and families, which has allowed me to gain first hand knowledge into what is important and what works for the younger generations.
As a therapist in various non-profit, educational and private practice settings, i’ve picked the best tools and methods to get you to where you want to go and make life fun again.

Workshops
We provide online and in-person workshops to educate and work through whatever your need may be. We work wherever you want us - online, workplaces, universities, community and private spaces.
We don’t have any planned workshops on the horizon just yet (☹)

Collaborations and Media
Accessibility to the knowledge that is often kept behind therapy doors is one of our biggest passions.
Which is why we love to support, contribute to and collaborate with other businesses and media to bring about effective change in the mental health world.
Some publications we’ve loved and worked with in the past:
Harpers Bazaar
Frankie Magazine
Fashion Journal
Body and Soul Australia
Dr Marion Piper, What Doesn’t Kill Us Podcast
Jackson Goding, Reason with Me Podcast
