What is your cancellation policy?
To ensure fair access for all, we have a cancellation policy of 48 hours notice to give us the best chance of offering an appointment to someone else who needs it.
As a registered health service provider, we have a responsibility to ensure access for all clients who may require mental health support - Including those on our waiting list, which is a key reason we have a cancellation policy in place with Australian mental health practice guidelines. -
Do I need a referral to see you? Can I claim on Medicare?
Medicare does not cover counselling sessions, so you do not need a referral from your GP.
The benefit of this is that you have complete control over what you want to work on in our sessions and there is no set time limit to our sessions together, as there is with Medicare-covered sessions. -
Can I claim on my private health fund?
You may be able to claim sessions with your private health fund (yay!), however this is unique to what fund you are with and your level of cover, so please confirm with your health fund as this is entirely out of our hands.

What if I can't afford therapy?
I reserve a limited number of low fee spots for people experiencing financial hardship in my schedule.
If these spots are full, I will refer you to another therapist or service who will be able to see you.

Do you work with clients just in Sydney?
Nope! I am all online, and the beauty of technology means I can see you anywhere in Australia, as well as select overseas countries.

What age clients do you see?
The majority of my clients are between 15-30, as I specialise in young people.
However, I do see children as young as 10 years old (depending on their reason for seeking therapy and if online therapy is appropriate for them) and I do not have an upper limit for my clients.
If my approach and areas of specialty fit with you, then i’m more than happy to see you! -
How many sessions will I need?
This all depends on where you are at and what you are hoping for.
Generally I like to see clients weekly or fortnightly to begin with, but i’m more than happy to go with whatever you can make work for your schedule and finances.
I have seen clients for 3 sessions who felt they got what they needed and could move forward, and others I have seen for years - it’s up to you.

What if you are not the right fit for me?
It happens! Although i’ll do my very best to try and be on the same page as you, therapy can be a bit like dating - you might not stay with the first one you meet!
If you feel we’re not the right fit in the first session, I won’t charge you for the time and I will provide an awesome referral for you with no issues or hard feelings.

What will a therapy session look like?
Generally - our first session is focussed on getting to know all things you!
We’ll have a good old chat about as much or as little as you wish, so I can get to know you and what you’re hoping for during our time together.
We might discuss your family history and current relationships, your current emotions, how you’re coping or anything else that you feel is important to talk about.
You can ask me questions if you like too! We go exactly at your pace - so if there is anything you don’t want to talk about, that’s totally cool.Future sessions will vary depending on what you want and need from our time - but they could look like working through past trauma and grief, learning emotional regulation skills and exploring your identity and life direction through some exercises and reflective conversations.
I will offer my tried-and-tested strategies and research to match what I feel will be helpful for you, and pivot along with way to make sure you are getting what you need from our time together.
