Surviving Lockdown
Rooted in behavioural psychology, aimed at processing the upheavals over the past year and shifting mindset to spring into the future with excitement and vision.
We know that the mental health of young people has severely declined over the past 18 months due to lockdowns and the confusing, ever-changing future that covid offers.
Our mental health system is in crisis, with calls to Lifeline and Kids Helpline peaking and extensive waitlists of 3+ months for individual support for most services.
We still don’t know what is ahead of us, but through this workshop we will explore this difficult time as a growth experience to come out with acceptance, coping and tools to look toward the future.
What to expect in this workshop:
Psychoeducation and skill building in a down to earth, creative package
How the brain and emotions work during lockdown and how to harness them
Practical tools to manage motivation, emotional regulation, mental health, anxiety, worry, low self esteem and more
The most effective and important activities and topics used in individual therapy - Incorporating creative methods, writing methods, for reflection during the workshop and ongoing
Group members will gain:
Key coping tools and strategies for now and the future - covering areas of mental health, motivation, self-care and transitions back to school and life in the upcoming months
Clarity on what they want for themselves in the future - Values, goals in line with their unique individuality and navigation on how to get there with enhanced confidence
Connection - with their peers sharing similar experiences and worries
