Clinical Counselling in Victoria, BC - Ellie Rose Cocoon Mental Health

I’m Ellie - I’m a registered clinical counsellor with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Master of Counselling (researching my thesis into family-based trauma and young people).

I see clients for a range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • Depression, feeling lost/directionless in life

  • Anxiety and panic disorders

  • Family-based trauma

  • Grief and loss

It’s my passion to bring the knowledge usually kept behind therapy doors and in therapy university programs to you, who might need it.
Let’s do mental health a little differently.

How I do mental health clinical counselling a little differently, to get you to where you want to be - without the CBT worksheets and boring mindfulness..

I am based online Australia-wide and in the process of opening a little something up downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for mental health clinical counselling.

Cocoon empowers young people with knowledge and tools to navigate their mental health and wellbeing, through a down to earth, creative approach different from traditional, one-size-fits-all models of Psychology and Therapy.

I got sick of the mental health world being boring, confusing and trying to fit us into boxes.
Which is why Cocoon was born.

My approach is soft, gentle and smothered in genuine empathy for you - but with a burning commitment to working together to find the healing and tools that will get you to the other side, feeling empowered, inspired and living your next-level, authentic life.

I use my science-backed knowledge from my studies and research and combine that with my experiences in family therapy and young people.

And.. why did I create Cocoon instead of working for someone else?

I have centred my academic study and work experience on children, adolescents, young adults and families, which has allowed me to gain first hand knowledge into what is important and what works for the younger generations. As a therapist in various non-profit, educational and private practice settings, I grew deeply passionate about improving mental health support for young people in a way that is accessible, appropriate, and accepting of their individuality.

After conversations with clients, friends, colleagues and drawing from my experience in the mental health care system, I wanted to do something different that actually addressed the giant gap growing in youth mental health—instead of making it bigger.
That's where Cocoon was born!
